Resident Evil (Jean Hobbs) - Part 1

Author's Note: Enjoy! This is based off of the game ‘Resident Evil 4’ which is super mega awesome.

I walk through the long hallway towards the Prime Minister’s office. All I’ve been told is that I’m about to be sent on my first mission. After training since I was eighteen, I am now twenty-one and about to be sent on some sort of mission. I reach the office door and knock twice, and then a deep voice from within the room tells me enter. I turn the door handle and step inside, closing it behind me. I then turn to the Prime Minister, who is surrounded by four men all wearing suits. All four I know and am friends with. Dan, Phil, Chris and PJ. It seems that even at work they’re the fantastic foursome.

“Greetings Mr Howard.” The Prime Minister says, sitting behind his desk.

“Prime Minister.” I say with a nod.

“So how much have you been told about this meeting?”

“All I know is that it’s something about me going on my first mission.” I say shrugging.

“Mr Howell, please tell Mr Howard his assignment.”

“Your assignment is to write a summary of ‘Of Mice & Men’.” I heard Chris mutter, before PJ punched him in the arm, not without smiling at the joke though. I have to admit I found it kind of funny.

“One week ago today the Prime Minister’s nephew, Dean Dobbs, was kidnapped.” Dan said. “We don’t know who by, but we are led to believe it is the work of some sort of mysterious cult.”

“Some sort of mysterious cult? Is that all we have to go by?” I ask.

“That and that there has been a reported sighting of Dean.”

“And where has he been sighted?”

“A rural village in Spain.”

“Spain? Are you being serious?”

“This isn’t a matter to make jokes in Mr Howard.” The Prime Minister butted in.

“I know but still, Spain? Who would kidnap someone from England and take them all the way to Spain?”

“I don’t know, but in this case my nephew.”

“Which has already been helpfully pointed out...” I mumbled.

“What was that Mr Howard?” The Prime Minister asked.

“Oh, nothing.”

“Well OK then.” He said. “Mr Lester will hand you the file containing all necessary information, and then you can go on your way.”

Phil walked over, handing me a yellow folder with a nod. I took it and nodded in return, before turning around and walking out of the office and back home.

One hour later

It seems that I’m leaving for Spain tomorrow morning at six o’clock. I look at the clock, eight o’clock. I better pack my bags soon then. The folder contains my plane ticket and lots of other information. My list of equipment, which will be sent there by the government. When I get there two Spanish guys who speak fluent English will be there with a truck, and they will accompany me on my mission. There is also a fact file about Dean, his age, height and all that. Everything seems to be order. Now, there should be a picture of the Prime Minister’s nephew somewhere.

I go through all the pieces of paper in the file, and at the back I find a photograph. I take it in both my hands and look at it. I have to admit, Dean is pretty good looking. He has brown hair that reaches his chin and a fringe that covers his entire forehead and hiding his eyebrows. He also has chocolate brown eyes to go with his hair. His smile is dazzling as well. I don’t know how long I spend looking at the photograph, but when I finally put it down I go and pack my bags.
